Guthrie County Hospital has a full-time Outpatient Nursing Services Coordinator/Perioperative
Surgical Services RN position available. This position reports to the Director of Acute &
Emergency Services. Works 40 hours per week varying shifts and rotating weekends and

The Circulator/Scrub Nurse is responsible for the direct and indirect provision of professional
nursing care of the patient in the operating room. The nurse is accountable for ongoing
evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the
perioperative inpatient and outpatient environment utilizing the nursing process. Coordinate
and implement the outpatient nursing services program throughout the organization. In this
role, the nurse is responsible for the recruiting, scheduling, execution and/or delegation of
services, documentation, and record keeping for patients utilizing outpatient services. Support
the mission, vision, and core values of the organization.


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), within 6 months of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), within 6 months of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), preferred
  • Must possess the ability to function in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to embrace change and able to handle multiple demands at one time
  • Surgery experience, preferred. Will consider applicants with no surgery experience
