RN – Infection Prevention / Employee Health / Disaster Coordinator

Guthrie County Hospital (GCH) has a full-time RN position available. This position reports to the Chief
Nursing Officer. Works 40 hours per week, primarily weekdays but may require occasional weekends /

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, provides coordination in the development,
implementation, and maintenance of Emergency Management services consistent with the Mission,
Vision, and Values of Guthrie County Hospital. Utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to facilitate
emergency preparedness readiness for Guthrie County Hospital facilities and represents Guthrie County
Hospital in community initiatives focused on emergency preparedness planning, preparedness,
response, and recovery. Coordinates the infection prevention program by optimizing patient care through
the prevention, surveillance, investigation, liaison, education, research, and control of health care
acquired infection (HCAI) and providing and maintaining a comprehensive, efficient, and effective
infection prevention and control service for employees and patients. Coordinates the employee health
programs working to ensure the health and wellness of employees, performing pre-employment testing,
providing essential medical services in the workplace, and operating a wellness education program for


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred
  • HICS / FEMA / HSEEP Classes
  • Hazardous Materials Operations verification
  • Previous emergency management in a healthcare environment or related experience, preferred
