Chris Stipe Named New Guthrie County Hospital CEO
The Guthrie County Hospital Board of Trustees and their affiliation partner, UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, are pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Stipe as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr. Stipe will begin his role as CEO August 1, 2023.
Board of Trustees Chairperson, Mike Underwood noted during his announcement to team members, “Chris brings to us a wealth of knowledge and more than twenty-five years of progressive health care leadership experience that will lend itself to fulfilling our vision and mission at Guthrie County Hospital.”
Stipe holds a Master’s in Health Services Administration from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science from Kansas State University. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Stipe currently serves as the Executive Director for The Commons in Enid, Oklahoma and has served as President and CEO for the McPherson Center for Health and the Manhattan Surgical Hospital in Kansas. Prior to Chris’ move to Kansas, he served as CEO at Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda, Iowa for nine years during which he led efforts to build a $28M replacement hospital and elevated financial performance and patient outcomes.
