Guthrie County Hospital is pleased to announce Iowa Specialty Surgeons to our team!
Dr. Paul Conte, MD is a general surgeon has been practicing for 17 years. He graduated from
University of Oregon in 1994 and specializes in general surgery and thoracic surgery.
Dr. Timothy Mayfield, MD is a general surgeon has been practicing for 7 years. He graduated from
University of Missouri in 2005 and specializes in general surgery.
Both of these surgeons have completed 5 years of post-graduate general surgical training prior to
completing 1-3 years of highly specialized fellowship training. They are also all board certified or
board eligible.
General surgery services to be offered will be: colonoscopies, hernia repairs, EGD, gallbladder
removals, appendix removal, breast biopsy, and removal of lipomas/sebaceous cysts. Patients can
continue to self-refer or ask their primary care provider for a referral.
Iowa Specialty Surgeons will begin taking appointments on October 31 and will be here once a week.
