Guthrie Center, Iowa – October is recognized nationally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Guthrie County Hospital & Clinics (GCHC) is encouraging women throughout the region to take proactive steps toward protecting their health.
Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women worldwide, but early detection through regular screenings significantly improves outcomes. Guthrie County Hospital & Clinics offers a wide range of women’s health services, including preventive care, annual screenings, diagnostic imaging, and education resources to support women at every stage of life.
“Our goal is to empower women to make their health a priority,” said Sarah Madsen, Medical Imaging Manager at Guthrie County Hospital. “Routine screenings like mammograms are one of the most effective tools we have in the fight against breast cancer, and we want our community to know those services are accessible, close to home, right here in Guthrie County.”
In addition to mammography and breast health services, GCHC provides:
- Annual wellness exams
- Gynecological care
- Family planning
- Bone density testing
- Preventive screenings and education
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Guthrie County Hospital & Clinics will also be sharing educational resources and encouraging women to schedule their annual exams.
